Analog film is experiencing a rebirth among moving image artists, as its tactile nature aligns with the physicality of the medium which encourages an embodied conversation between the artist and the film itself.

This curated selection of short films, made through an open call which received films over 39 different countries, celebrates the bold and diverse ways of contemporary artists working with film formats. In their works, analog becomes a bridge to reflection, presence, and a deeper connection with the tangible world. The selected films take us from conceptual to narrative and from experimental to documentary, dealing with a wide range of topics from migration to environmental changes, from memory to disabilities.

Experimental and ecological techniques are strongly represented, weaving the legacy of avant-garde filmmaking with pressing questions of our time: how do different bodies navigate social and political landscapes? Where do humans and the natural world intersect, and how do we seek balance in a chaotic era?
